The Resonant Shell

The Resonant Shell

24 Nov – 19 Mar

Overview

The Resonant Shell (الصدفة) was an immersive art experience commissioned especially for the AlUla Wellness Festival. Part sculpture and architecture, part soundscape and meditative space, this work offered a transformative experience – bringing the visitor’s awareness into a holistic awareness of the moment.

Free and open to all, The Resonant Shell was a must-visit experience located within the AlUla Oasis, near to Oasis Square in AlJadidah.

The Concept

This site-specific installation offered visitors a mini-retreat, a connected physical and spiritual experience, and a moment of deep resonance with AlUla’s extraordinary landscapes. Nestled within the AlUla Oasis, guests found a tower of mudbrick and fabric connecting the ground and sky.

From a spiralling staircase entering a space of acoustic isolation, visitors could find meditative silence with artistic sound works inspired by AlUla - activated by a human's presence at its core.

Open daily, The Resonant Shell could be visited as a singular experience or combined with new learnings from the classes and talks at the nearby Five Senses Sanctuary.
