Families and friends shared in the celebration of Eid Al Adha with AlUla hosting a range of free events and experiences across the city.

The lively celebrations took place in Old Town, Daimumah and AlAziziyah Park, and included live music, henna, boardgames, immersive performances, giveaways and more.

Children's Giveaways

The first day of Eid was celebrated with goodie bags and sweets for children in Old Town, a special AlUla tradition.

Path of Poets

A dramatic performance dedicated to the beautiful story of the poet Jamil Ibn Muamer and his love Buthaina, this two-part creative narrative play featured legends of AlUla’s past and the caravans of pilgrims that influenced their stories. Led by the award-winning director Salem Bahamish and a talented team of actors and designers, the production incorporated amazing sound and light technology, intricate costumes and incredible set design.

Music performances

Visitors spent the evening listening to the well-known music of the Gulf and other Saudi favourites in celebration Eid Al Adha.

Henna

Applying the cooling and decorative henna paste is synonymous with festivities in AlUla. Many joined the celebrations with a beautiful henna design courtesy of our resident artists.

Traditional food stalls

A variety of traditional dishes were available from a host of food stalls set up within the Oasis. A traditional seating area was also created to welcome visitors to rest and relax amidst the beauty of the date palm trees.

Family board games

To celebrate Eid Al Adha, children and adults tried their hand at a series of traditional games, like dominoes and more.
