In a never-been-done-before experience, hot air balloons are coming to Khaybar. Offering a bird’s-eye view of this impressive landscape, some of the most important archaeological marvels of Khaybar are only able to be seen from above.

For those with an eye for history and adventure, a hot air balloon tour is an essential part your visit to Khaybar. Take a unique Tethered Hot Air Balloon ride in Khaybar, flying high enough to see Bronze Age traces of ancient stone structures, geometric shapes, and facades. These monuments are an essential part of the city's historic heritage - only visible from above. The diverse colors and vistas of the flight will make for beautiful photographs and unforgettable memories.

4:00 pm – 5:30 pm Tethered Flights

Experience the exciting lift-off of hot air ballooning, while remaining tethered to ground. This afternoon experience is a great introduction to hot air ballooning. Each flight will last around 10-15 minutes depending on weather.

Meeting Points

Balloon Flights Guests Booked Separately: Please arrive directly at the venue 30 minutes before your flight time. Parking is complimentary at the site.
Heritage Tour Guests: Transportation will be provided from AlRawan Viewpoint to ensure you arrive to the balloon site 30 minutes before your flight time.
Khaybar Volcano Camp Guests: Transportation will be provided from the camp to ensure you arrive to the balloon site 30 minutes before your flight time.

Recommended Attire

Guests should wear comfortable outdoor clothing with closed-toe walking shoes or boots. We advise bringing a jacket, as it can be cold up high in the open-air balloon. After checking in, staff will go over safety procedures to prepare you for the flight.

Height & Weight Restrictions

Height: 121 cm minimum
This height restriction is set so that children are able to see over the basket safely.
Weight: 130 kg maximum
Please note passengers will be asked to share their weight before the flight. Even weight distribution is extremely important in hot air ballooning for safety purposes.

Entrance Policy

Pre-registration is required. Please read the terms and conditions before purchase and note that you will be required to complete a waiver form before the activity.
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your balloon experience.

*The flight experience is not suitable people of determination, but all are welcome to come and enjoy the launch of the balloons from the lounge area.

A Note On Weather

Hot air balloon flights are weather dependent and may be cancelled last minute due to bad conditions or strong wind. In this event, you will be offered a full refund or a member from our call centre team will help you reschedule. Plan to spend a few days in AlUla so you can rebook if this happens to you.

Flight length will be based on the assessment of the hot air balloon team, and the direction of the flight will be based on the wind.
