Overview

Explore Hegra’s dramatic rock formations on a guided easy-to-moderate hike led by an expert Rawi and Heritage Ranger. In groups of seven, discover the geology that shaped Nabataean tombs and monuments, then enjoy AlUla’s geological and cultural heritage at sunset.

What to expect

Vintage Land Rover transfer from Hegra Visitor Centre to the hike’s starting point.

Saudi Arabia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hegra is AlUla’s most iconic heritage site. It is home to more than 100 monumental Nabataean tombs carved into stone. Once a thriving crossroads of trade and civilisation, it preserves stories of ancient cultures, craftsmanship and desert life.

Loose, comfortable, lightweight clothing suitable for light to moderate hiking. Sturdy walking shoes or boots must be worn. Bring your own water or purchase in advance from the visitor centre.
