Bold art commissions in dramatic landscapes
Returning with extraordinary site-specific installations inspired by AlUla’s awe-inspiring landscape and heritage, Desert X AlUla 2026 invites visitors to explore artworks in the landscape by local and international artists – alongside workshops and live programming. The fourth edition takes place from 16 Jan to 28 Feb 2026.
Works on Nature, Identity, and Place
Through more than 80 artworks drawn from major international and regional collections, this contemprary art exhibition explores the themes of land, belonging, and the natural world. Co-curated with Centre Pompidou and AFALULA, Arduna is a pre-opening program for AlUla’s forthcoming contemporary art museum which will be dedicated to 21st-century art and rooted in AlUla’s unique cultural oasis and heritage.
Where Craft Meets Community
Step inside a living showcase of AlUla’s artistic heritage. At Madrasat Addeera, traditional crafts like pottery, weaving and jewellery-making are brought to life by local artisans. With exhibitions, workshops and community showcases, this is where ancient skills meet a bold new generation of craftspeople.
A Stage for Talent
From hands-on workshops in Oud, Qanun, Guitar and more to open-mic nights and student recitals, AlUla Music Hub is alive with creativity. Located in the AlJadidah Arts District, the hub brings together local and global sounds through special performances for AlUla Arts Festival - alongside programmes that spark musical skill, exchange and expression across the community
A Showcase of Innovation
At the heart of AlJadidah Arts District, Design Space AlUla brings together a contemporary design exhibition titled Material Witness: Designing From Within, with public talks by leading designers and hands-on workshops. Discover original works from the Artists Residency, Madrasat Addeera and Design Award finalists - alongside limited-edition pieces in the Design Store. A dynamic space where ideas take form and creativity connects across cultures.
A Platform for Contemporary Arab Art
Located in the heart of AlUla’s AlJadidah Arts District, Athr Gallery brings its pioneering spirit to the AlUla Arts Festival with a new exhibition featuring Saudi artist Sara Abdu. Known for championing emerging and established talent from across the Arab world, Athr offers a fresh perspective on contemporary creativity in the region.
Art, Nature and Community in Harmony
Daimumah is a living cultural landscape where art, heritage and nature come together. Set within AlUla’s lush oasis, its programme includes guided walks, interactive workshops, youth-led tours and open-air performances - all rooted in the rhythms of the land. From planting sessions to storytelling in the shade, Daimumah invites reflection, creativity and a deeper connection to place.
