An immersive experience, Awna is a journey of wonder and delight amidst the dramatic sandstone outcrops and intricate ancient tombs of Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Awna represents human connection, the joy of togetherness and a celebration of the ancient traditions of the spice route.
A Contemporary Culinary Experience, Inspired by Ancient Hegra
Hegra was once the heart of the Incense Road, connecting the ancient world through the trade of the luxury commodities of its time - and as a result, brought civilisations together, creating cultural fusions that continue to shape our modern world. Set at the epicentre of this chapter of history, Awna presents dishes inspired by the essence of Hegra. An exceptional roster of era-defining culinary masters will deliver dishes in dialogue with the legacy of this spectacular and storied landscape.
The Concept
Awna is a journey of discovery into local flavours, the culture of the Incense Road and the heritage of previous civilisations. Tasting menus are inspired by the love of banqueting so enjoyed by the Nabataeans, curating the culinary journey into a more traditional seated affair, keeping with fine dining of the modern era. In the Tea Lounge, recline, relax and enjoy the spirit of Nabataean banqueting with our small plates.
